Arctic Grandeur

Arctic Grandeur

Dazzling white of a frozen earth,

Bridal veils bending the boughs,

Ice crystals dancing with winter mirth,

The quiet this arctic endows.

Chasing each other around the light,

Sun dogs play in the cloud.

Cardinal and blue jay color the sight.

And the children laugh aloud.

“It's all in fun,” Mother Nature declares,

“This snow of the winter tide.

Rest and watch in the frosty air.

Set anguish and worry aside.

The world will turn and spring will come

And this grandeur will melt away.

So feed the birds and don't be glum.

Raise a cup by the fire this day.”
