Loneliness?
What is this loneliness?
Alone brings peace.
Loneliness heartbreak.
It seems to live everywhere.
I have met it in a crowd,
in my church pew,
at the store.
Even sometimes when we talk,
or make love.
Loneliness? Perhaps
a place in the heart
untouched;
unseen;
unknown.
A place where few are allowed
and none stay.
A place of thirst,
hunger,
tears.
A place of fear.
Yes, above all, fear
of being known;
of being unknown.
